Sandy Alcantara reportedly starting for Marlins in Game 1
Miami Marlins pitcher Sandy Alcantara will start the Wild Card Series opener against the Chicago Cubs on Wednesday, reports Craig Mish of SportsGrid.
It will be Alcantara's first postseason appearance. The 25-year-old right-hander threw a 3.00 ERA and 1.19 WHIP with 39 strikeouts and 15 walks over 42 innings (seven starts) during the regular season. He bumped up his strikeout percentage to 22.0 from 18.0 last year.
numberFire's models expect Alcantara to score 30.0 FanDuel points in Game 1. He averaged 34.7 FanDuel points per game during the regular season. The Cubs had the fourth-highest strikeout percentage (25.7) in the majors this season.
