Cameron Maybin (feeling ill) scratched from Cubs' Saturday lineup; Ildemaro Vargas enters
Chicago Cubs outfielder Cameron Maybin has been scratched from Saturday's game against the Milwaukee Brewers.
Maybin is "feeling ill," per the team, so this doesn't seem to be a COVID-19 situation at the moment. Maybin will be replaced in left field by Kyle Schwarber - who was slated to be the designated hitter - and Ildemaro Vargas will enter the lineup at second base after some defensive shuffling. Vargas will hit eighth against Brewers starter Brent Suter, who is on the bump in place of Brett Anderson, who was scratched with a tight right hip.
In 72 plate appearances this season, Maybin has a .250 batting average and a .703 OPS.
