Mets place Marcus Stroman (calf) on 10-day injured list
New York Mets starting pitcher Marcus Stroman has been placed on the 10-day injured list.
Stroman was originally considered day-to-day after dealing with a sore calf, but an MRI revealed that the situation is much more serious. The 29-year-old actually has a calf tear, and while it fortunately won't require surgery, manager Luis Rojas described the condition as a week-to-week ailment. It seems that Stroman won't be playing anytime soon.
In 184.3 innings pitched last season with the Mets and Toronto Blue Jays, Stroman had a 3.22 ERA with a 1.31 WHIP, 159 strikeouts and 58 walks.
