Astros' George Springer reportedly absent Tuesday due to test delay
Houston Astros outfielder George Springer is absent from Tuesday's workout while waiting for COVID-19 test results, reports Brian McTaggart of MLB.com.
The Astros continue to have problems with test delays at summer camp but it shouldn't prevent Springer from being ready for Opening Day. The 30-year-old slugger slashed .292/.383/.591 with career-highs in home runs (39) and RBI (96) over 556 plate appearances last season.
numberFire's models expect Springer to record a .279 batting average and .900 OPS this season with 13 homers, 34 RBI, and 41 runs scored over 234 plate appearances.
