Padres release Brian Dozier
The San Diego Padres have granted Brian Dozier his release.
It's not clear exactly why the team released Dozier, but he was not included in their 60-man pool. Assuming he's healthy, he should be able to catch on with another team in the near future.
The 33-year-old made 482 for the Washington Nationals last season, batting a decent .238 with 20 home runs, 54 runs, and 50 RBI. He still has plenty left in the tank, and should reappear on another squad before too long.
