Aaron Judge (rib) expects to be in Yankees' Opening Day lineup
New York Yankees outfielder Aaron Judge (rib) that he fully expects to be ready for Opening Day.
"I'm game-ready," Judge told reporters after Monday night's intrasquad game at Yankee Stadium. "Like I told you guys in spring training, I was going to be ready for Opening Day." Judge started in right field and batted second Monday without suffering any setback. He was diagnosed this spring with a stress fracture in his first right rib that stems from a dive in the outfield last September. Judge slashed .272/.381/.540 with 27 homers, 55 RBI, and 75 runs scored across 447 plate appearances last season. He hasn't recorded an OPS above .921 either of the last two years after posting a 1.049 OPS in his first full season in the majors. Judge turned 28 in April.
numberFire's models expect Judge to bat .272 with a .908 OPS this season while tallying 13 homers, 32 RBI, and 37 runs scored over 219 plate appearances.
