Giants' Tyler Beede (Tommy John surgery) out for 2020
The San Francisco Giants placed starting pitcher Tyler Beede on the 60-day injured list with a right elbow injury.
Beede is recovering from Tommy John surgery in March. He will be on the shelf until 2021. The right-hander had previously been competing for one of the final spots in the Giants' rotation. Beede didn't allow a single run in three of his final four appearances last season before being lifted from his last start in the fourth inning with an oblique injury.
Beede spun a 5.08 ERA and 1.48 WHIP with 113 strikeouts and 46 walks across 117 innings in his first full season in the majors. Per FanDuel Sportsbook, the Giants are tied for having the worst odds (+33000) to win the 2020 World Series.
