Jeff McNeil (hamstring) going on Mets' 10-day IL
The New York Mets placed infielder/outfielder Jeff McNeil on the 10-day injured list with a left hamstring strain.
McNeil suffered the injury on Tuesday against the Atlanta Braves while trying to beat out an infield grounder in the bottom of the ninth inning. An MRI revealed the strain is mild and he's reportedly only expected to miss the minimum 10 days. The Mets are calling up infielder Ruben Tejada from Triple-A Syracuse in a corresponding move.
McNeil is hitting .332/.400/.529 with 15 homers, 31 doubles, 55 RBI, 4 steals, and 67 runs scored in 442 plate appearances (105 games) this season.
