Daniel Mengden to start for Oakland on Wednesday
Oakland Athletics pitcher Daniel Mengden will start on Wednesday versus the St. Louis Cardinals.
What It Means:
Mengden takes the rotation spot of the suspended Frankie Montas, but he may have a short leash with highly touted prospect Jesus Luzardo looming in Triple-A.
Mengden has posted a 5.09 ERA and 1.65 WHIP while striking out 19 in 23 innings pitched this season.
