Jake Bauers (ankle) scratched Monday for Indians, Mike Freeman enters lineup
Cleveland Indians utility player Jake Bauers has been scratched from Monday's lineup versus the Kansas City Royals due to a left ankle sprain.
Bauers suffered the injury while catching fly balls during batting practice. Mike Freeman is now starting in left field and batting ninth versus Royals righty Brad Keller.
Bauers is batting .224 with a .686 OPS through 275 plate appearances (73 games). He has 9 homers, 10 doubles, 28 RBI, 31 runs scored, and 2 steals.
