Hunter Pence

Hunter Pence (groin) placed on Rangers' injured list

The Texas Rangers placed designated hitter/outfielder Hunter Pence on the 10-day injured list with a right groin injury.

What It Means:

Pence was removed from Sunday's game against the Cincinnati Reds after pulling up while chasing a ball in the outfield. It's not clear how long the 36-year-old veteran will be on the shelf. The Rangers activated Willie Calhoun from the IL in a corresponding roster move. Shin-Soo Choo is at DH Monday while Calhoun is in left and Danny Santana is in right.

Pence is hitting .294/.353/.608 with 15 home runs, 14 doubles, 48 RBI, 44 runs scored, and 3 steals across 215 plate appearances this season.
