Cardinals call up Genesis Cabrera for Wednesday debut
The St. Louis Cardinals recalled starting pitcher Genesis Cabrera from Triple-A Memphis.
Cabrera will make his major league debut in a road start Wednesday night against the Philadelphia Phillies. The 22-year-old left-hander put together an ugly 6.35 ERA and 1.56 WHIP with 39 strikeouts and 19 walks over 39 2/3 innings this season at the Triple-A level.
