Harrison Bader (elbow) on Cardinals' bench in Game 2 versus Kansas City
St. Louis Cardinals center fielder Harrison Bader (elbow) is not starting in the second half of Wednesday's doubleheader versus right-hander Homer Bailey and the Kansas City Royals.
Bader was removed from Game 1 after getting hit by a pitch on his arm. X-rays came back negative, so it shouldn't be a long-term issue. Dexter Fowler is covering center field and hitting seventh while Jose Martinez starts in right.
Bader is batting .253/.381/.437 with 4 home runs, 11 RBI, and 15 runs scored through 106 plate appearances this season.
