George Springer out for Astros Monday with back issue
Houston Astros outfielder George Springer (back) is not starting in Monday's series opener versus right-hander Ryan Burr and the Chicago White Sox.
Springer made an early exit from Sunday's game due to lower back stiffness, but an MRI came back clean, so it appears to be a day-to-day issue. Michael Brantley, Jake Marisnick, and Josh Reddick are in the outfield Monday for Houston. Reddick is in the leadoff spot.
Springer is slashing .313/.396/.654 with 17 homers, 9 doubles, 42 RBI, 41 runs scored, and 4 steals through 212 plate appearances.
