Martin Maldonado on Royals' bench versus Rays
Kansas City Royals catcher Martin Maldonado is out of Wednesday's lineup versus the Tampa Bay Rays.
Maldonado hit his first home run of the season in Tuesday's loss to the Rays. The 32-year-old backstop is slashing .172/.264/.266 through 73 plate appearances. He's being replaced behind the plate by Cam Gallagher on Wednesday afternoon.
