Giants acquire Kevin Pillar from Blue Jays
The San Francisco Giants acquired outfielder Kevin Pillar from the Toronto Blue Jays for infielder Alen Hanson and relievers Derek Law and Juan De Paula.
Pillar provides a defensive upgrade in the outfield for the Giants and his departure opens up room for prospect Anthony Alford in Toronto. That said, Pillar's arrival could take playing time from Steven Duggar. The 30-year-old has hit .260/.297/.396 in the majors, all with the Blue Jays. San Francisco designated Michael Reed for assignment in a corresponding roster move.
numberFire's models expect Pillar to hit .263 with 16 home runs, 62 RBI, 71 runs scored, and 18 steals moving forward.
