Twins considering trading Trevor Plouffe

The Minnesota Twins "will listen but are not actively seeking to move" third baseman Trevor Plouffe, Mike Berardino of the St. Paul Pioneer Press reports.

What It Means:

The general consensus is Minnesota will likely trade Plouffe following the signing of first baseman/designated hitter Byung-ho Park as they could move Miguel Sano to third base. Plouffe is projected by MLBTradeRumors.com to earn $7.7 million in his second year of arbitration eligibility. The Los Angeles Angels reportedly will have interest in him if he's made available.

Per Fangraphs, Plouffe generated 2.5 Wins Above Replacement in 2015. Across 632 plate appearances, he slashed .244/.307/.435 with 22 home runs and a 2.2 Ultimate Zone Rating at third base.
