Braves sign Josh Donaldson to 1-year, $23M deal
The Atlanta Braves have signed free-agent third baseman Josh Donaldson to a one-year, $23 million deal on Monday.
Donaldson spent most of 2018 plagued with a calf injury but gets a hefty one-year deal from Atlanta to prove he still can bash homers. The 33-year-old will provide much-needed pop to the hot corner for the up-and-coming Braves -- if he stays healthy.
Donaldson saw just 50 at-bats in 2018, batting .280 with 3 homers. He is a lifetime .275 batter with 183 home runs in 3,817 career plate appearances.
