Alex Avila (knee) returns to Tigers lineup Friday
Alex Avila was activated from the DL and will start at catcher for the Tigers tonight as they take on the Blue Jays.
What It Means:
Alex Avila has not done much with the bat this season. In 74 plate appearances he's slashing .200/.342/.317 with a .306 wOBA. James McCann has played well behind the plate in Avila's absence, while producing a .724 OPS and a .315 wOBA. McCann figures to eat into some of Avila's playing time.
