4 Daily Fantasy Baseball Stacks for 5/11/16

Stacking can be a controversial topic in many daily fantasy sports, but you can count baseball as a glaring exception. Here, it's universal.

Using multiple players on the same team on a given day presents you with the opportunity to double dip. If one of your players hits an RBI double, there's a good chance he drove in another one of your guys. When you get the points for both the run and the RBI, you'll be climbing the leaderboards fast.

Each day here on numberFire, we'll go through four offenses ripe for the stacking. They could have a great matchup, be in a great park, or just have a lot of quality sticks in the lineup, but these are the offenses primed for big days that you may want a piece of.

Now, let's get to the stacks. With the split slates, we'll be focusing exclusively on the late slate starting at 7 pm Eastern. Here are the teams you should be targeting in daily fantasy baseball today.

Boston Red Sox

The Oakland Athletics have allowed double-digit runs in three straight games. The Boston Red Sox have been a part of that in the past two, and they've got a chance to extend the streak tonight with Eric Surkamp toeing the rubber.

Surkamp has spent his past two starts in Triple-A after a rough first four starts in the bigs. He finished those 19 1/3 innings with a 6.41 SIERA, 9.2% strikeout rate, and 12.2% walk rate. That's not likely to be enough to hold back the Red Sox's red-hot bats.

That was Hanley Ramirez's fourth home run of the season, and three of them have come in the past seven games. Truthfully, though, he has been striking the ball well the whole season with a 37.6% hard-hit rate, his highest since 2013. His .154 isolated slugging percentage isn't the most alluring total for a first baseman in a tournament, but his hard-hit rate indicates that could soon rise. He seems to be a quality selection right now, especially against a lefty starter.
