4 Daily Fantasy Baseball Value Plays for 4/18/16

Miguel Sano has a great matchup against Chase Anderson and the Brewers tonight. Who else should you target for big time fantasy value?

Building daily fantasy baseball lineups can be intimidating. On any given slate, you have a massive number of options in front of you and a ton of factors to consider.

We're here to help take some of that burden off and break down some hitters who you can slot into your lineup for nice and cheap, while still being well-positioned to provide your lineup with solid fantasy production.

Let's take a look at where we can find value on today's slate.

Joe Mauer, 1B, Minnesota Twins

FanDuel Price: $3,000

The Twins have the second-highest implied total on tonight's slate as they host Chase Anderson and the Milwaukee Brewers.

While Anderson has allowed a higher wOBA to righties, he still hasn't been great against left-handed hitters through his career, allowing a .317 wOBA with an 18.9 percent strikeout rate and 4.32 xFIP.

Joe Mauer has started the year well and is out-pacing his career averages in wOBA, ISO, strikeout rate and walk rate.

Even if you don't expect him to keep that level of production, he has hit for a career .384 wOBA and .161 ISO against right-handed pitching, and with the favorable matchup against Anderson, he's in a great spot tonight.

Justin Bour, 1B, Miami Marlins

FanDuel Price: $2,800

I just can't seem to stop writing about Justin Bour, especially when he's up against a righty. In 438 career at-bats against right-handed pitching, Bour has been excellent, with a .354 wOBA and .219 ISO.

Tanner Roark isn't a push-over, but with Bour so cheap, he's certainly not good enough to avoid Bour. Roark has allowed a career .316 wOBA to left-handed hitters, with only a 13.1 percent strikeout rate, and a 4.76 xFIP.

Miguel Sano, 3B, Minnesota Twins

FanDuel Price: $2,900

Miguel Sano is another player to like in the Twins' solid matchup tonight. As I mentioned, they have the second-highest implied total on the slate against the Brewers, and Chase Anderson has actually allowed a higher wOBA to right-handed hitters, .339, over his career.

While he's a righty, Sano has hit right-handed pitching very well so far through his career, with a .376 wOBA and .240 ISO. He strikes out at a very high rate of 35.7 percent, but getting his potential production in one of the more appealing offenses of the night for so cheap is hard to turn down.

Miguel Montero, C, Chicago Cubs

FanDuel Price: $2,900

Although the Chicago Cubs' hot start has cooled down a bit over the last few games, their offense has still been one of the best in the league to start the season, and they rank second with 71 runs scored.

Miguel Montero has started the year well, with a 121 wRC+, and he has been solid against righties through his whole career, with a .344 wOBA and .168 ISO.

He'll be up against Mike Leake, who is coming off of one of the worst seasons of his career in 2015. He posted a 4.19 SIERA and 15.3 percent strikeout rate. His struggles have also continued through his first two starts this year. His career-long numbers against left-handed hitting don't inspire a ton of confidence either, and he has allowed a .334 wOBA and 1.18 home runs per nine with a 14.8 percent strikeout rate.
