Trevor Plouffe hasn't had the most impressive 2016 season, but even in this down year, he's making great contact and sporting a 40.0 percent hard-hit rate against left-handed pitchers. He has a career .192 isolated slugging against lefties with a 35.6 percent hard-hit rate, so that number doesn't come as much of a surprise.

He draws a great matchup tonight against Hector Santiago, who is in the midst of his fourth straight season with a SIERA above 4.25 and is on pace for a career-worst mark of 4.61.

Santiago also has an ugly 5.09 xFIP against righties this season, just above his career mark of 4.86. This is a terrific spot for Plouffe, who has big upside tonight.
