Rick Porcello will be pitching for the Red Sox in Baltimore tonight, putting Orioles lefties in a good spot.

While Porcello has shown improvement in recent seasons, he has struggled against left-handed hitters over his career, allowing a .346 wOBA with a 4.13 xFIP. Even last season, when he posted the second-best SIERA of his career, he allowed a .351 wOBA to lefties.

Pedro Alvarez has serious struggles against left-handed pitching, but he excels against righties, hitting a career .339 wOBA and .226 ISO with a 37.7 percent hard-hit rate.

With a favorable matchup against Porcello and hitting in Camden Yards, a park that is very friendly to left-handed hitters, Alvarez is well positioned for a big game.
