While Justin Upton's production hasn't been great to start this season, he's sporting a 33.3 percent hard-hit rate, and only a 4.2 percent home run-to-fly ball ratio. We can expect that ratio to improve (his career average is 14.6 percent, with a 34.4 percent hard-hit rate), and he has typically produced well against lefties, with a career .371 wOBA and .224 ISO.

He has a solid matchup tonight against Hector Santiago, who hasn't posted a SIERA better than 4.27 since 2012. He has a 4.63 SIERA through 10 games this season, a 4.32 over his career, and has allowed a career 3.29 wOBA with a 4.87 xFIP to right-handed hitters.

Upton may not be taking the world by storm this season, but he has a terrific matchup tonight, and offers a lot of upside relative to his price tag.
