Kendrys Morales, 1B, Kansas City Royals

FanDuel Price: $2,700

This entire season has basically been one, giant wait for Kendrys Morales' results to match his peripheral stats. You don't see many guys with average strikeout rates and 35.4% hard-hit rates who have .313 slugging percentages. Maybe this will finally be the matchup that pulls him out of the slump.

Chicago White Sox starter Miguel Gonzalez shut down the Royals this past weekend, but a larger sample shows that he struggles when there's a lefty at the plate. Gonzalez's xFIP against lefties last year was 4.55, and it has gone up a tick to 5.20 over a small sample so far this year. Increased usage of his slider and split finger have made him a different pitcher, but that hasn't translated into success against lefties quite yet. That puts Morales and the Royals' other lefties in a quality spot.

It's hard to figure out what has been ailing Morales this season. Even though his peripherals largely align to what he did last year, the results have been drastically different. Those same poor results, though, have driven his price down, and they'll likely do the same with his ownership, so the upside in investing now when the results don't align is immense.
