Giancarlo Stanton, OF, Miami Marlins

To be blunt, Giancarlo Stanton has been terrible lately. In his last 25 at-bats, Stanton has produced: 1 hit, no extra-base hits, and 17 strikeouts (yes, a 68 percent strikeout rate).

Most DFS players are reactionary, and recency bias will scare them off of Stanton tonight. Despite his recent performance, Stanton has still posted a .273 ISO and .434 wOBA versus lefties this season. And those numbers are actually significantly worse than his splits a year ago.

In 67 plate appearances versus southpaws in 2015, Stanton blasted his way to a .525 ISO and .464 wOBA with 9 home runs.

Don’t fall into the trap of a small 25 at-bat sample. He’ll face Matt Moore tonight, who has already allowed six homers to right-handed bats this season. With a price drop to $3,400, Stanton is an elite GPP option.
