Yordano Ventura has been really struggling to start this season and is sporting an ugly 5.93 SIERA despite having a .239 BABIP and 7.7 percent home run-to-fly ball ratio, both of which are much better than his career averages and should be helping his numbers this year.

Carlos Beltran, a switch hitter, has done very strong work against right-handed pitchers over his career with a .366 wOBA and .215 ISO. His numbers this year aren't overly impressive, hence the low salary, but his .274 BABIP (well below his career average of .300, despite a 31.1 percent hard-hit rate that is in line with his career average) leaves plenty of room for optimism that he'll return to form. With Ventura's rough start to the year, Beltran is in a great spot tonight.
