Mark Teixeira, 1B, New York Yankees

FanDuel Price: $2,800

First and foremost, don’t forget that today is Coors Field day. Use those Rockies and Diamondbacks bats.

For non-Coors bats, Mark Teixeira checks in as the best hitting option. Many DFS players are using small 2016 samples when making lineup decisions, and Teixeira is a prime example of why this is problematic. His ISO has dropped to .148 versus right-handed pitching this year, even though he’s still managed to hit 3 home runs from this side of the plate.

When you take a step back and look at the larger sample size, you’ll see he dominated right-handed pitching last year. The switch-hitting Teixeira enjoyed an elite .339 ISO and .399 wOBA as a left-handed hitter in 2015.

Tonight is a great opportunity to get back to last year’s form, as he’ll face Kansas City’s Chris Young. Last season versus lefties, Young allowed a .172 ISO and a .320 wOBA and struck out just 15.5 percent of them.

This year, Young has already allowed 4 home runs in just 11 innings pitched to lefties with a .312 ISO and .419 wOBA. It’s amazing that Young continues to take the mound for the Royals, but don’t complain -- he’s a great target for DFS players.
