Steve Pearce, 1B, Boston Red Sox

Price: $2,200

Detroit Tigers southpaw Matt Boyd is looking absolutely deadly to open 2019. He's pitched 24 1/3 innings, turning in a 2.83 SIERA with a 36.0% strikeout rate.

At 28 years old, this hot start can be a sign of some serious improvement, but when we look back at his first four seasons in the majors (no better than a 4.31 SIERA in any of the four), we can also expect him to cool off significantly. Oddsmakers seem to agree, and the Boston Red Sox have a solid 4.71-run implied total here.

Steve Pearce will have the platoon advantage against Boyd, and since the start of last season he has flexed with a .383 wOBA and .226 ISO in that split.

Getting that production for only $2,200 is hard not to like, and with Boston still offering a solid implied total and Pearce projected to bat third, you shouldn't let Boyd's strong start to the year scare you off.
