Is this the Jon Gray breakout season we have all been waiting for? As fantasy owners, we are desperately hoping the answer to be yes.

So far in 2019, Gray has logged 3.59 SIERA in 19 1/3 innings, including a strong 22.4% fly-ball rate and 25.6% strikeout rate.

Same-sided bats have had a very tough time hitting him this season, which makes Manny Machado a tough player to roster, especially at an elevated price point. This season, Gray has limited damage to righties in the form of a 37.1% strikeout rate, 2.05 xFIP, and 17.6% fly-ball.

On a monster main slate with plenty of juicy options, ignore Machado.
