3 Under-the-Radar MLB FanDuel Plays for 9/12/18

Jose Abreu, 1B, Chicago White Sox

With cheap options up and down the Chicago White Sox lineup, they will likely be a source of value for many a roster tonight against Eric Skoglund.

Over 51 2/3 innings this year, the left-hander has a unimposing 4.52 SIERA, 17.8% strikeout, and 44.2% hard-hit rate allowed, and he'll be making his first start since May after coming off the 60-day DL last week. Skoglund pitched two scoreless innings in relief last Friday, but between his overall performance and general rust, it's hard to expect him doing much tonight.

So while it makes sense to grab some cheap pieces from this offense, don't leave out Jose Abreu, the only guy priced above $3,000. Abreu owns an impressive career 147 wRC+ against southpaws, and this season he's posting a 44.3% hard-hit rate, .391 wOBA, and .271 ISO in the split. While the price isn't ideal for cash games, there's some nice upside here to include him in tournaments.
