Gregory Polanco, OF, Pittsburgh Pirates

The Pittsburgh Pirates are seldom the type of offense we look to stack, but there's some potential in using Gregory Polanco as a one-off against John Gant.

Although Gant has managed some solid results (3.56 ERA), he's posted a mundane 4.65 SIERA, 19.8% strikeout rate, and 10.5% walk rate this season. Lefty batters have done the most damage, hammering Gant for a 57.4% hard-hit rate, 41.0% fly-ball rate, and .347 xwOBA.

With the platoon advantage, Polanco is producing a solid 36.0% hard-hit rate and 51.9% fly-ball rate, with a .368 xwOBA and .265 ISO. In a lineup that's a little short on pop, Polanco is one guy we can bet on who could knock one out tonight.
