J.T. Realmuto, C, Miami Marlins

We're used to treating J.T. Realmuto as one of the best hitting catchers in the game, but an ugly August slump (.173/.284/.280) has the Miami Marlins' backstop looking like just another undistinguished catcher.

But with 35.7% hard contact, a slim 11.3% strikeout-minus-walk rate, and a below-average reach rate, there's some hope here that Realmuto can post a strong finish to 2018. The low $3,000s price tag makes Realmuto a worthy roster filler as Miami travels to hitter-friendly Fenway for a pair before squaring off against the dicey staff of the Toronto Blue Jays over the weekend.
