3 MLB FanDuel Studs to Target on 8/9/18

The Boston Red Sox come in right behind the Dodgers, ranking third on the slate with a 5.28 implied total for their matchup with southpaw Ryan Borucki and the Toronto Blue Jays.

Borucki has a stellar 2.30 ERA over his seven MLB starts, but his 4.50 SIERA suggests that he hasn't been pitching nearly as well as it may look. This is especially the case when you consider the middling 4.17 xFIP he posted in his 13 Triple-A starts this year.

J.D. Martinez is also a tough matchup for any pitcher. The slugger has a massive .437 wOBA and .322 ISO on the year, and in a 105 plate appearances against lefties, he has a 49.2% hard-hit rate and 10.8% soft-hit rate.

Martinez leads the Majors in both home runs (34) and RBIs (98), and his monstrous production isn't likely to slow down against Borucki.
