Chad Pinder, OF, Oakland Athletics

Price: $2,900

On the other side of that game, Oakland is the only team with a higher implied total than the Rangers on Wednesday. Their 6.16 implied total is 0.32 runs higher than Texas' and 0.98 runs higher than any other team.

That is in part thanks to the Rangers' pitching, as they will be starting southpaw Martin Perez. Perez has been awful, posting a 5.36 SIERA through seven starts in 2018. Struggles like that are nothing new for him either, with a SIERA north of 5.00 in each of his last two seasons as well.

The contact he has allowed is especially concerning, with a huge 45.8% hard-hit rate and only a 13.7% soft-hit rate. Chad Pinder has absolutely mashed southpaws this season, and he should have little trouble taking advantage in this spot.

Over a sample of 113 plate appearances, he has a staggering 60.9% hard-hit rate, 5.8% soft-hit rate and 38.2% fly-ball rate, which has translated to a .371 wOBA and .200 ISO against left-handed pitching. Expanding our view to the entirety of his young Major League career, his 240 plate appearances against southpaws have seen him average a .346 wOBA on a 48.0% hard-hit and 13.2% soft-hit rate. It's more than enough to make him an elite value option tonight.
