Matt Olson, 1B, Oakland Athletics

Matt Olson may have a lefty-lefty matchup against Eric Lauer in pitcher-friendly Petco Park, but this sure is a cheap salary for a guy with such massive power potential. After all, Olson is among the who's who of power hitters at the top of the average exit velocity leaderboard, and he still leads the league in hard-hit rate (52.5%). Olson may only have 2 of his 14 dingers off left-handers this year, but he's still producing a 50.0% hard-hit rate against them, and managed a .261 ISO in the split last year.

Meanwhile, Lauer hasn't proven himself ready for the big leagues, showing a 4.98 SIERA, 18.3% strikeout rate, and 11.0% walk rate over 10 starts. He hasn't proven himself much better in his limited innings against lefties either, allowing a 5.70 FIP and .348 xwOBA.

There are better overall matchups on the board tonight, but it can't hurt to take a flyer on Olson's upside at such a low price point.
