J.D. Martinez has had of the most dangerous bats in baseball in 2018. He ranks third among qualifying hitters with a .428 wOBA, second with a .338 isolated slugging (ISO) and second in average exit velocity. His 21 home runs are 2 more than anyone else has notched on the year, while his 54 RBIs are 4 away from the second-best mark.

A righty-righty matchup like he draws tonight against Dylan Bundy is no concern, either, as Martinez has actually done his best work against righties this year, boasting a .452 wOBA in the split.

Bundy also makes for a promising matchup. Despite his much-improved numbers this season, he's still allowing a fairly high 35.4% hard-hit rate to go with a 48.0% fly-ball rate. Giving up contact like that to the MLB's premier home-run hitter is a recipe for trouble.
