Buy Carlos Santana

When you look at Carlos Santana's .208 batting average, one would wonder why he'd be a player to buy right now. But the Philadelphia Phillies first baseman is actually on quite a roll and has been for the entire month of May.

Overall, his slash line of .207/.326/.430 is nothing to write home about, but during this month, he's hit .272/.366/.617 with 7 of his 9 home runs and a wOBA of .410 that is 5th-best among qualified first basemen.

And while that batting average is a meager .207, his walk and strikeout rates are equal to his career numbers, suffering from horrific luck this year (.196 BABIP). He also has 21 extra-base hits this season, the same number as Bryce Harper and Nolan Arenado. Now's a good time to buy low on someone who has always been a better second-half player.
