As is often the case when Max Scherzer takes the mound, the Washington Nationals are the day's biggest favorites (-230 moneyline), while their opponents -- the Miami Marlins -- have the day's lowest implied total (2.83 runs).

Scherzer leads all qualifying pitchers with a 2.05 skill-interactive ERA (SIERA) on the season, while also ranking first with an absurd 40.9% strikeout rate and first with a 17.2% swinging-strike rate. His matchup is also one of the best around for a righty. The Marlins rank only 28th in wRC+ against right-handed pitching, while also striking out at a top-10 rate (24.1%) against them.

A $12,000 price tag isn't cheap, but usually when we get a pitcher as deadly as Scherzer in a matchup like this, they get priced up closer to $13,000. That makes Scherzer an easy pick as the top arm in all formats tonight.
