J.D. Martinez, OF, Boston Red Sox

FanDuel Price: $5,200

With so many better hitting spots on the board tonight, the Boston Red Sox will almost certainly go by the wayside in their road matchup against Jacob Faria.

However, Faria hasn't been all that good this year, posting just a 5.10 SIERA, 18.2% strikeout rate, 10.9% walk rate, and 38.3% hard-hit rate allowed. The Sox are expensive, as always, and Tropicana Field isn't a great hitting environment, so while a full stack probably isn't advisable, a low-owned J.D. Martinez should pique your interest.

Martinez owns the second-best wOBA (.448), ISO (.337), and average exit velocity (95.5 miles per hour) in the league this year, and he is tops in hard-hit rate (54.3%). That's upside we'll happily take in virtually any matchup, let alone one against a struggling pitcher. And considering Martinez has been hitting dingers to center and right field in Fenway all year -- the deepest parts of that park -- Tropicana Field is barely a concern for his immense power.

Fitting in a slugger over $5,000 will be incredibly difficult if you're rostering Chris Sale or Gerrit Cole, but if you can make it work, it could be worth the trouble as a contrarian move in tournaments.
