Marcus Semien, SS, Oakland Athletics

FanDuel Price: $3,400

Marcus Semien has had a solid start to the 2018 campaign, hitting .275 with 3 home runs and 3 steals. That's why his price tag isn't cheap, up near $3,500. But very little about his profile has changed, except for the fact that his fly-ball rate is now down to 32.6%. He already appears to be a tad overpriced, and then we need to consider his matchup.

Rick Porcello has been fantastic for the Boston Red Sox this year. He has a 3.36 SIERA on the season, better than his Cy Young-winning year. He has also been lethal against right-handed hitters in his career, holding them to a .305 wOBA thanks to a 28.0% fly-ball rate and 27.0% hard-hit rate.

Semien has struggled mightily against right-handed pitchers in his career. In the split, he has just an 87 wRC+ due to an elevated strikeout rate (24.0%) and a low hard-hit rate (28.0%). Even with the move to the friendly confines of Fenway Park, Semien isn't worth rostering.
