Were he playing in another park, Joey Votto would be a shoo-in tonight against Chris Stratton. However, AT&T Park has a way of deflating all enthusiasm for a matchup, and the Cincinnati Reds are only getting a 3.71 implied team total.

But over a small sample size, Stratton has lackluster numbers against lefties, posting just a 16.7% strikeout rate and 13.5% walk rate while allowing a .332 wOBA. Even if we take those numbers with a grain of salt (only 56 innings), we certainly don't doubt the abilities of Votto, who owns a career .420 wOBA and .234 ISO against right-handed pitching.

The pitching-friendly venue does put a damper on things, but it ought to keep Votto's ownership down in a matchup that he could still do plenty of damage in.
