Yuli Gurriel, 1B, Houston Astros

FanDuel Price: $3,200

On paper, this seems to be a decent enough matchup for Yulieski Gurriel, but despite a good start to his season that just isn't the case.

The first issue is Gurriel's reverse platoon splits. Even though he is a right-handed hitter, Gurriel has been better against right-handed pitching than left-handed pitching. In his career, he has a 122 wRC+ against right-handed pitchers compared to just an 80 wRC+ against southpaws.

And on Friday, he is facing a southpaw in Cole Hamels, who appears to have bounced back from an injury-plagued 2017. So far this year, Hamels has a 12.3% swinging-strike rate and 3.85 SIERA, both of which are solid numbers and ones worth avoiding.

Hamels is also one of the rare left-handed pitchers that is effective regardless of the handedness of the batter. In his career, he has held right-handed batters to a .298 wOBA and just a 28.6% hard-hit rate.

A reverse platoon splits hitter facing a left-hander that does work against righties? No thanks.
