David Peralta made some serious strides offensively in 2017, upping his wOBA to .342, which included a .353 wOBA and 36.0% hard-hit rate against righties.

Peralta has continued to progress this season, opening 2018 with a .378 wOBA and .212 ISO. Those marks jump to a .412 wOBA and .266 ISO on a massive 48.4% hard-hit rate when we narrow the split to his plate appearances versus right-handed hurlers.

That positions him really well tonight against Washington's Tanner Roark. Roark hasn't pitched as well this season as his 3.65 ERA indicates, with his 4.14 SIERA on pace to give him a fourth consecutive season with a SIERA north of 4.00. Since the start of the 2017 campaign, he has allowed a .347 wOBA while pitching to a 4.81 xFIP against left-handed bats.
