Brandon Belt, 1B, San Francisco Giants

Even on a seven-game slate, the San Francisco Giants rarely see much ownership, and that ought to be the case tonight in a mediocre matchup against Nick Pivetta. The Giants are only showing a middle-of-the-road 4.33 implied total, and Pivetta has a 3.74 SIERA and 24.1% strikeout rate.

The Giants are getting a nice park factor boost on the road at Citizens Bank Park, though, and Brandon Belt is off to a very strong start in 2018. The first baseman is sporting a 46.3% hard-hit rate and 48.7% fly-ball rate, leading to an impressive .406 wOBA and .234 ISO. He also owns a career 132 wRC+ against right-handed pitching.

Pivetta has put up solid peripheral numbers, but he's performed far worse against left-handed bats on the young season, posting a 16.7% strikeout rate and .399 wOBA allowed. It's a tiny sample size that should be taken with a grain of salt, but at the very least we shouldn't be scared off by the matchup -- and Belt's strong numbers could pay dividends tonight.
