The start to Joey Gallo's 2018 campaign looks a lot like the work he did in 2017. He's as inconsistent as ever, with a strikeout rate north of 30.0% and batting average under .225, but he combines that with some ridiculous power.

He has a .308 isolated slugging (ISO), which is in line with the .327 ISO he posted last year, and his batted-ball profile includes a 47.1% hard-hit rate, 11.8% soft-hit rate and 54.8% fly-ball rate. Just looking at his work against right-handed pitching since the start of 2017, his ISO is .335 with a .361 wOBA.

Detroit Tigers righty Michael Fulmer gives Gallo a good opportunity to show off his power as he's posted a middling 4.27 xFIP versus left-handed bats over his first three seasons.
