Another guy who draws a great matchup for his platoon splits tonight, Matt Adams has clobbered right-handed pitchers for a 47.1% hard-hit and only an 8.8% soft-hit rate in 2018. This comes after he posted a strong .367 wOBA on a 39.1% hard-hit rate against righties in 2017, as well.

Dating back to the start of the 2017 season, Pittsburgh Pirates righty Ivan Nova has allowed a .347 wOBA and 4.84 xFIP on a 34.8% hard-hit rate to left-handed bats, and those numbers don't inspire much confidence that he can limit Adams' upside here.
