With a 139 wRC+, 40.7% hard-hit rate, and 41.3% fly-ball rate, Michael Conforto has proven himself as one of the best hitters to use against right-handed pitching. And while Conforto has still been able to inflict damage against southpaws when he makes contact (career 36.9% hard-hit rate), actually making contact is the problem.

Conforto's 33.3% strikeout rate against southpaws is just abysmal, and it is reflected in his career 60 wRC+ against them. But not only has he been well below average against left-handed pitching, but he faces a southpaw that is one of the toughest to make contact against in the game. No, it's not as obvious as Clayton Kershaw or Chris Sale -- rather it is the Braves' Sean Newcomb.

Newcomb has a career 24.0% strikeout rate and 11.0% swinging-strike rate. He also manages contact well against left-handed batters, holding them to a 26.6% fly-ball rate and 29.2% hard-hit rate.
