Lucas Duda, 1B, Kansas City Royals

FanDuel Price: $2,200

It almost feels too easy to recommend fading Lucas Duda, but it is worth mentioning in case he becomes tempting at such a cheap price.

In his career, Duda has always has massive platoon splits. Against right-handed pitching, Duda has a career 12.6% walk rate, 21.5% strikeout rate, 132 wRC+, and 39.4% hard-hit rate. When facing southpaws, however, those numbers drop to a 7.4% walk rate, 32.1% strikeout rate, 80 wRC+, and 33.2% hard-hit rate. In essence, Duda goes from a well-above-average hitter against right-handers to a well-below-average one against lefties.

Chris Sale is a left-hander, and a very, very good left-hander.

I could probably leave it at that. But just to reinforce how ridiculously good Sale is against left-handed hitters, I'll remind you that lefty batters against Sale in his career have just a .239 wOBA, 30.8% strikeout rate, 30.4% fly-ball rate, and 21.7% hard-hit rate.

Avoid using Duda tonight.
