3 Under-the-Radar MLB FanDuel Plays for 4/18/18

Robbie Ray has big-time upside with a 32.4% strikeout rate, so he should get some attention as a tournament play this evening. But on the flip side, he has two major red flags going against him. One is his usual struggles with walks, which shows no sign of going away with a 15.5% rate thus far. The other is his reduced velocity, which is never a good sign for a pitcher.

Should these issues continue to crop up against the San Francisco Giants, then the Giants will have a golden opportunity to send Ray packing early. They've already faced Ray once this year, and he was far from spectacular, allowing 3 runs in just 4 2/3 innings. Although the Giants aren't a top-notch stacking team, as we saw with the Tampa Bay Rays on Monday, pretty much any team is capable of having a big night.

If going all-in on a stack feels too risky, then at the very least you can consider a one-off with Andrew McCutchen. McCutchen has stellar career numbers against lefties, and since the start of last year has produced a monster .425 wOBA and .316 ISO.
